Russia’s war against Ukraine began in 2014 and has since been examined from multiple angles. However, various proliferating forms of Ukrainian resistance on the Russian-occupied territories remain underexplored. Drawing on their recent research and open sources, the speakers Prof. Dr. Yuriy Matsiyevsky (National University of Ostroh Academy, Ukraine) and Dr. Guénola Inizan (Lviv Centre for Urban History of East Central Europe) will discuss realities of the Russian occupation regime in the affected areas of Ukraine, such as illegal home seizures, and zoom in on various aspects of the Ukrainian resistance movement, including civil protest and armed partisan action.
